Kannrückchen stands for:

Marstallstrasse 1 / corner of Vorwerkgasse in Weimar: corner house with a canopy
  1. Little curbs , raised sidewalks that rise more than 50 centimeters above the adjacent carriageway create a risk of accidents for pedestrians. This is especially the case where these sidewalks were not secured by railings or were poorly lit. According to Hannelore Henze, who described the Weimarer Kannrückchen , the name " Kannrückchen" contains the word Rick for a frame made of slats or rods on which cans were hung. Henze described this in Weimar's Vorwerkgasse and on the Graben . This little canopy in the Vorwerkgasse / corner of Marstallstrasse is still partially preserved.
  2. Kanrückchen in Thuringia: storage space above the paneling in the kitchen for kitchen appliances .
