Kanui & Lula was the name of a Hawaiian music duo that consisted of William Kanui and his wife Lula.
Career
William Kanui played a Hawaiian guitar , his wife played the guitar and ukulele and danced the traditional dance hula , both pieces of folk music and newly created titles were performed. Concert tours took the duo as far as Europe, where numerous recordings were made from 1922 onwards.
Kanui & Lula contributed significantly to the artistic reception of Hawaiian songs. Her recording of the song Oua Oua was made in 2001 by the Austrian mobile phone brand max.mobil. used in a commercial and republished. The CD also contained a remix by the Max Brothers , which topped the Austrian single charts for several weeks and in 2002 received the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the national single of the year category .
