Canoe Racing World Championships 2018 - C-1 500 m (men)

The competition in the men's single canoe over the 500 meters was held at the 2018 Canoe Racing World Championships on August 23 and 24, 2018. The venue for the race was the Centro de Alto Rendimento in the Portuguese municipality of Montemor-o-Velho .

While there was no athlete for Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein, Sebastian Brendel started for Germany and won a silver medal. Brazilian Isaquias Queiroz secured the world title and defending champion Martin Fuksa from the Czech Republic won the bronze medal .

Prelims

The three preliminary runs were carried out on August 23, 2018. The three runs were scheduled for 15:00, 15:07 and 15:14. While the three winners of the preliminary runs qualified directly for the A-final, the other six fastest boats took part in the two semi-finals and were able to qualify for the A-final through them.

Semifinals

The two semi-finals were held on August 24, 2018. The two runs were scheduled for 11:20 and 11:26. The three fastest boats of the two semi-finals completed the A-final. The other four fastest and the fastest eighth should start in the B final.
