The Kanzelbahn is a monocable gondola , originally an aerial tramway , to the Kanzelhöhe in Carinthia . It is the oldest cable car in Carinthia. The valley station is in Annenheim .
history
In 1928 the first Kanzelbahn, a cable car, was built by the Bleichert company . This had a capacity of around 500 people per hour. Originally it was only intended for summer operation. It was only used for winter tourism with the construction of a chairlift. However, a ski bus had to run between the train and the actual ski area. The way back was by means of a short drag lift, about 350 meters south of today's mountain station and over a ski path.
In 1987, as part of the modernization, the current Kanzelbahn, a detachable gondola lift for four people, was built by Doppelmayr . The station buildings remained, although the valley station is still used today as a tension shaft. The new lift has a capacity of around 1500 people per hour. It is also longer and, unlike its predecessor, ends directly at the height of the pulpit.
