Kaos Studios was an American game developer based in New York City owned by publisher THQ . The predecessor company was Trauma Studios .

history

Trauma studios

Trauma Studios was founded in 2003 and is known for developing the Desert Combat modification for Battlefield 1942 . President was Frank DeLise. On September 1, 2004, Digital Illusions CE bought Trauma Studios. There they were involved in the development of Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 . On June 7, 2005, it was announced that DICE had closed Trauma Studios.

Kaos Studio

Kaos Studios was founded in 2006 when parent company and publisher THQ hired the permanent employees of Trauma Studios to create a new studio based in New York City that focuses on first-person shooter video games .

In February 2008 the Kaos Studios released their first game Frontlines: Fuel of War for the Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows . In 2011, the second game Homefront was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 , and Microsoft Windows.

On June 14, 2011 it was announced that THQ's Kaos Studios will be closed. The publisher cites a "strategic realignment" as the reason.
