Cape Baba

The Cape Baba ( Turkish Baba Burun ) is the westernmost point of both the Turkish and the Asian continent.

It is located on the western tip of Anatolia on the Aegean Sea . The place and the fortress Babakale are located at Cape Baba .

The distance to Cape Deschnjow , which is located at the eastern end of the Chukchi Peninsula (northeast Russia ) and Asia on the Bering Strait , is about 8,223 km; this corresponds to the largest west-east expansion of the Asian continent . The largest expansion within Asia is between Cape Deschnjow and Bab al-Mandab in Yemen with about 10,858 km.
