Cape Kanin

Cape Kanin is a cape on the Russian Kanin Peninsula in northeastern Europe .

The cape is about 200 nautical miles east of Murmansk on the northwest tip of the peninsula.

At the cape there is a beacon , a weather station and a radio beacon for aviation and seafaring. The ocean current around the cape is strong and irregular, up to 5 nautical miles from land there are shoals . The coast is steep and between 15 and 27 m high.

The vegetation is typical of the tundra and reindeer herding is practiced. The annual average temperature is −1.1 ° C , the coldest months are January and February, the warmest July and August.
