The Cape New Haven is a cape on the north coast of low Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located just east of Venev Point and is the site of a chinstrap penguin colony .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2018 after New Haven , Connecticut , home of the first sealers operating in the waters around the South Shetland Islands in the 1820s.
