Cape doctor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cape Doctor ( english The Cape Doctor , also: South Easter ) is a wind around Cape Town in South Africa . Similar to the hair dryer, it acts as a fall wind and is mild and dry. This wind, one of the trade winds, blows mainly from the southeast.

The Cape Doctor occurs mainly during the summer months of the southern hemisphere , starting from August / September to March / April.

The residents of Cape Town call the wind "Cape Doctor" because of its cleansing effect on the city air. The downwind caused by Table Mountain blows emissions from industry and car traffic out to sea.
