Blood cross

The blood cross (678 m above sea level) is located about 500 m southwest of the Bildbühl chapel in the "Rotes Krüz" parcel. According to legend, a black poodle was found crouching on the Alpgasse every evening. He is said to have jumped at the people passing by, indignant, so that they ran away. A particularly courageous boy once grabbed the dog tightly with both hands and asked: "What do you want?" The black poodle is said to have answered whimpering that he was a dishonest soul and was waiting for his redemption here. He once committed a bloody act in his life nearby. If a red cross is erected here, he will be redeemed. Since then, the "red cross" has been standing outside on Alpgasse, and nothing has ever been seen or heard of the black poodle.
