Leussin Chapel

The Leussin Chapel is a listed church building in the Leussin district of the Bentzin community in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It belongs to the parish Jarmen - Tutow of the Demmin provost of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District .

The building on the enlarged churchyard of the former manors Leussin and Zarrenthin, inaugurated in 1876, was initially only used for funerals at funerals. On March 30, 1904, the first service took place in the renovated cemetery chapel. In 1932 the chapel was renovated by the Loitz settlement company . At the end of 1962 an extensive renovation and expansion took place, during which the entire interior was renewed. The new inauguration was consecrated by the then bishop of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church, Friedrich-Wilhelm Krummacher . In 1966 the chapel was extended by an extension. Extensive renovation work was carried out again in 2013.

The chapel was built from field stone on a rectangular floor plan . The architectural elements are made of brick . In the north-west and south-east side there are three arched windows each, the two western ones are coupled . The plastered extension on the east gable, at the same height and width as the field stone part, takes up around a quarter of the total length of the building.
