Karamay (municipality)
Karamay ( Chinese 克拉玛依 区 , Pinyin Kèlāmǎyī Qū ; Uighur قاراماي رايونى, Ⱪaramay Rayoni ) is a municipality in the prefecture -level city of Karamay in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . It lies on the northwestern edge of the Djungarian Basin . The administrative area of the city district has an area of 3,832.97 km² and has around 150,000 inhabitants (2004). The municipality is the city center and seat of the municipal government of Karamay.
Administrative structure
At the municipality level, Karamay consists of six street districts and one municipality . These are:
- Jinlongzhen Street District (金龙 镇 街道);
- Road quarter Kunlunlu (昆仑路街道);
- Shenglilu Street District (胜利 路 街道);
- Tianshanlu Street District (天 山路 街道);
- Wuwu Xinzhen Street (五五 新 镇 街道);
- Yinhelu Street District (银河 路 街道);
- Xiaoguai Township (小 拐 乡).
