The Karamu Caves are a cave system in the Waikato region on the North Island of New Zealand .

The caves are on private property and in 2015, with a length of 3535 m, they were 33rd of the longest caves in New Zealand. The cave has five entrances.

They are relatively easy and safe to access and are taken on commercially organized tours, but mostly only within 200 meters of the entrance. A tour of the cave takes up to two hours.

"Glowworms" live in the cave , next to it you can see the karst-typical formations such as stalactites and stalagmites . In the 10 years from 2001 to 2011, one of the tour operators led 6500 people on 280 excursions through the cave.
