Karin Praniess-Kastner

Karin Praniess-Kastner (born August 13, 1963 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Between 2005 and 2015 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

Karin Praniess-Kastner completed the AHS Matura at a secondary school and then studied commercial science at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . At the same time, she completed an apprenticeship as a women's clothing maker and then worked in various areas in her parents' company. Praniess-Kastner attended training as a communication and behavior trainer as well as a mediator. In 2000 she started her own business as a trainer, consultant and mediator.

Karin Praniess-Kastner was district councilor and sat from November 18, 2005 until the election in October 2015 for the ÖVP in the Vienna state parliament and municipal council. According to her own statements, because of the physical handicap of one of her daughters, her political focus was on politics for disabled people as well as in the areas of social affairs, families and local supplies. She represented the ÖVP in the 18th and 19th legislative periods in the “Health and Social Affairs” committee.

Karin Praniess-Kastner is married and has two daughters.
