The Karkaraly ( Kazakh Қарқаралы тауы , Qarqaralı tawı ) is a mountain range up to 1566 m high in Kazakhstan ( Central Asia ).
It is located in the central part of the Kazakh Threshold, southeast of Karagandy . The highest mountain is the Aksoran . Karkaraly , which is rich in forests and lakes, is made up of granite , slate and green jasper . It is sometimes called Kazakh Switzerland .
In 1998 the Qarqaraly National Park was established.
Since the independence of Kazakhstan, official names have been written in Kazakh , so there are different spellings for the park and, for example, the Karkaraly mountain range.
