Karl-Heinz Spikofski (born February 24, 1927 in Essen ) is a former football player and coach. His position as a footballer was that of midfielder . His last club as a coach was BC Augsburg from 1963 to 1964.

Career

Spikofski began his career at Rot-Weiss Essen in the top division of the time, the Oberliga West, before moving to 1. FC Köln within the league . After some time with the also red and white Cologne team, he transferred to Bayer Leverkusen in the top division . In 1952 Spikofski became a legionnaire when he moved to CO Roubaix-Tourcoing in France , who at that time was even in the top division of France, Ligue 1 . Overall, the CORT, so the abbreviation of CO Roubaix-Tourcoing, ten years (1945-1955) participant in Ligue 1. In 1954, just one year before the club's relegation to Ligue 2 , Spikofski got an offer from Italy . The football club Catania Calcio was interested in the German midfielder, which Spikofski also used to gain more international experience. From 1954 to 1957 he remained loyal to the Sicilians before receiving an offer from a club from another country in 1957. This time the Dutch football club VVV Venlo was interested in the committed player from Germany. After only two years at the football club from Venlo, Spikofski transferred back to Germany in 1959 to VfR Wormatia Worms , for which he was in action until 1961.

Coaching stations

When Spikofski decided to end his career as an active football player in 1961, he wanted to work as a coach and so came to FC Sion in the same year , where he was immediately accepted. Before that, he had already completed the 5th course at the Hennes-Weisweiler Academy from May 12, 1958 to February 20, 1959 . He coached the traditional Swiss club until 1963 , before taking over the freelance coaching position at BC Augsburg in the same year , which he gave up only a year later, so turning his back on football and at the same time withdrawing into his private life. In September 2015, photos, mostly from his youth, were sold on the online auction platform eBay .
