Karl-Joachim Kierey

Karl-Joachim Kierey (born November 26, 1940 in Nordhausen ) is a former German politician ( CDU ) and former State Secretary in Berlin.

From 1967 to 1970, Kierey studied history and political science at the universities in Berlin and Frankfurt am Main, graduating with a degree in political science from the Free University of Berlin in 1967. Since 1970 he has worked for the CDU in the field of public relations. In 1985 he was State Secretary to the Berlin Senator for Economics and Labor and until 1989 to the Senator for Justice and Federal Affairs.

Kierey held various party offices in the Berlin CDU. He then worked from 1993 to 2000 as one of the Managing Directors of Messe Berlin .
