Karl-Ludwig Weiss (* 1947 ; † 2009 ) was a German racing car driver and entrepreneur.

Career

Karl-Ludwig Weiss began his racing career in touring car motorsport in the late 1960s. In the German Automobile Circuit Championship (DARM) he drove with a Fiat-Abarth 850 TC a few victories in the touring car class up to 850 cm³ in 1969 and finished 6th overall after the racing season. In 1970 he was able to improve his season result and achieved 3rd place in the overall standings.

A year later he switched to a Fiat-Abarth 1000 TCR, with which he was able to advance to 7th place overall through a successful rest of the racing season despite initially two races without participation. In 1972 the DARM was converted into the German Automobile Touring Cup. Weiss was able to secure victory in the mountain track championship with his Fiat-Abarth 1000 TCR and was runner-up in the circuit cup championship.

For the following season he switched to a Ford Capri RS 2600 and drove with it in the 1st division of the German Racing Championship (DRM) and in the German Automobile Circuit Cup. In that year he could not build on the great successes of the previous years and finished the DRM season with 10th overall place. In 1974 Weiss started again with Waltraud Odenthal in the European Touring Car Championship in the Zandvoort Trophy and reached 11th place there.
He then ended his racing career and joined his parents' Fiat and Lancia dealership that his son now runs. Karl-Ludwig Weiss died suddenly of cancer in 2009.
