The Karl-Weinberger-Stadion , formerly “Stadion in der Au”, is a sports stadium on Georg-Eckl-Straße in the south of the city of Plattling , Lower Bavaria , immediately west of the Plattlinger adventure pool. The owner is the city of Plattling, the main users are the Plattling Black Hawks from the American Football League German Football League , the athletics department of TSV Plattling , and the A-class footballers of the Plattlinger Kickers . In 2013 the stadium was renovated. With a capacity of around 4,000 visitors, including around 800 covered seats, it is the largest sports facility in Plattling, along with the sports field on the racetrack grounds on Josef-Froschauer-Strasse, and is of great national importance. After a number of district and district championships, the Bavarian Athletics Championships were held here on July 13 and 14, 2013. The stadium is named today after the athlete and former Plattlinger Stadtsportverband and BLSV district chairman, Karl Weinberger (1930–1993), who died in 1993.
