The Plattling Black Hawks are a German American football team from Plattling in Lower Bavaria .

history

The team was founded in November 1986 in Deggendorf as Deggendorf Black Hawks , where the Black Hawks played from 1987 to 2004. The greatest success until then was the possible promotion to GFL 2 in 2004 when they were relegated to the Stuttgart Silver Arrows was able to win (39: 0 and 0:34), but refrained from promotion for financial reasons.

From the 2005 season they then played in Plattling as a department of SpVgg Plattling and renamed themselves Plattling Black Hawks . In the first year in Plattling, the championship in the regional league succeeded and this time the promotion was noticed. In their first season in 2006 in the second Bundesliga, the Black Hawks managed to establish themselves and they reached third place in the table and also in the 2007 season they landed in third place. In the 2008 season , a leap up was achieved. As champions of the league, they were relegated to the GFL South . There they met the Darmstadt Diamonds and had the upper hand in both games (43:33 and 44:36). This was the first time the Black Hawks played in the first Bundesliga GFL (German Football League) in 2009 .

In their first GFL season , the Black Hawks started with two defeats. In the further course of the season they were able to win against the Weinheim Longhorns , Munich Cowboys and Marburg Mercenaries and thus break away from the bottom of the table. In the meantime, they even ended up in fifth place at the end of the season with a chance of a play-off spot. The 2010 season was much more successful, with 3rd place in the playoffs. The play-off game against the Berlin Adler was lost 3:17.

The 2011 season ended the Black Hawks in 7th place without a win. In the 2012 season, the team therefore played in the Regionalliga Süd, but again lost every game. In the 2013 season she competed in the Bayern League Middle, was able to end the sporty decline and win the championship. In 2014 and 2015 the Plattling Black Hawks played in the Bayernliga Süd, but could only take the last place. The 2016 season, however, ended with a 3rd place and a balanced score. 2017 will be the first time in the Bayernliga Nord.

The 2018 season was unsuccessful and no victory could be achieved. This meant that the Black Hawks had to accept a relegation to the national league. Head coach Filakovic left the team. At the end of 2018, Mahan Samadi was elected as the new head coach and has since taken over the rebuilding of the club. The team was restructured immediately after Samadi's entry. The declared goal of the 2019 season is to rebuild the senior team.
