Order of the Parfaite Amitié

The Order De Parfaite Amitié of the Thurn und Taxis family was donated by Prince Alexander Ferdinand von Thurn und Taxis as a merit and house order. Prince Carl Anselm renewed the order and gave it the appearance that is still valid today. With the abolition of the principality by the Rhine Confederation Act of July 12, 1806, the order is only awarded as a house order.

Order decoration

The medal is a gold , white-enameled eight-pointed cross. In the cross angles alternately from left to right clockwise the pinnacle tower from the coat of arms of Thurn and an upright lion. On the arms of the cross, starting clockwise at the top, the golden inscription VIN CLUM AMICI TIÆ ( Shackle of Friendship). The intertwined initials CA (Carl Anselm) in the red enamel medallion . On the reverse in the blue enameled medallion the letters TW or, since 1928, the initial A ( Albert ).

A golden prince's hat is attached between the cross and the carrying ring .

Carrying method

Men wear the decoration as a neck medal on a sky-blue ribbon, women a little smaller on the lady's bow on the left side of the chest.

Known porters

All members of the princely Thurn and Taxis family receive the medal when they turn 18. It is also awarded to well-known personalities who are close to the house.
