Wilhelm Imkamp (born September 27, 1951 in Kaldenkirchen , Niederrhein) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and prelate . From 1988 to December 31, 2017, he was the pilgrimage director of the Bavarian-Swabian pilgrimage site Maria Vesperbild ( Diocese of Augsburg ).

Life

Wilhelm Imkamp, ​​son of an entrepreneurial family (tobacco factory and coffee roastery), was able to study theology and philosophy at the Roman Gregorian through the mediation of Aachen bishop Klaus Hemmerle ; he spent two semesters at the Canisianum in Innsbruck. In 1976 he was ordained priest for the diocese of Aachen in Rome .
