The Vincentinum is a non- slip Hospital of the supply stage 1 in the Bavarian city of Augsburg . For many years it was supported by the Augsburg motherhouse of the “Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of Saint Vincent de Paul”. The Sisters of Mercy sold the Vincentinum to the Artemed Clinic Association with effect from July 1, 2018.
General information
The clinic is located in Jakobervorstadt on the edge of Augsburg city center not far from the former city wall with the Fünfgratturm and can be easily reached by car via the B 2 . The Stadtwerke Augsburg operate with the city bus line 35 own "Vincentinum" stop.
The Vincentinum has 248 beds on ten wards (including the day clinic ) and is classified in the II. Care level ( hospital of standard care ). The building has been extensively modernized and is now state-of-the-art in all areas.
history
The Sisters of Mercy of St. Vinzenz von Paul acquired the site of the former monastery brewery of the Franciscans (OFM) in today's Franziskanergasse north of St. Max in 1890. In 1892, a retirement home, the St. Vincent pension, was opened. In 1903 it was partially converted into a hospital. From 1914–1917 and during the Second World War it served z. T. as a hospital . In 1996 the old building was demolished and replaced by a new building. The Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy was the sponsor of the clinic until 2017. Due to the age of the sisters as well as problems with the offspring, the clinic went to the Artemed group from July 2017.
Medical departments
The Vincentinum is run purely as a private hospital, which means that all doctors in the hospital are allowed to occupy a certain number of beds, but are also independent and usually have their own practice .
The clinic has departments specializing in anesthesia , ophthalmology , surgery , ear, nose and throat medicine , internal medicine and orthopedics .
KVB emergency practice and medical center
As an integral part of the overall concept, there are two other, independent facilities right next to the Vincentinum, which are in close cooperation with the hospital: The KVB emergency practice is operated by the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and provides for minor emergencies that are not yet part of the remit of a Hospital emergency room fall, round the clock doctors.
The medical center located in the Franziskanergasse has medical practices of various specialties, whose doctors mostly also occupy beds in the Vincentinum.
