In the north, Dresden managed to keep the Eagles at a distance in both games, even if it was very close in each case. The monarchs traveled to Hamburg with a 28:24 home win in their backs. There they fell 7-0 behind in the first few minutes and thus temporarily moved into the second division . But the Dresdeners were not unsettled by this and played a 19:13 lead by half time, which lasted until the end of the game.
In the south, however, the shares of the game were distributed quite differently. The people of Saarbrücken kindly distributed gifts, in the form of penalties and other individual mistakes, to the Munich guests. They gladly accepted and drove a safe 25: 7 away win. The second leg in Munich was then a clear affair. The guests were swept out of the Dante Stadium with a score of 48: 2 in front of 1,400 spectators . The Cowboys succeeded in direct resurgence after a year in the second class.
Relegation to promotion to the GFL 2
In the relegation to the two places in the GFL 2 Süd, the champions of the Regionalliga Mitte, the Stuttgart Silver Arrows , had the easiest. Since their opponents, the Franconian Timberwolves , waived the games, the Stuttgart rose without a fight. The Montabaur Fighting Farmers , second in the Regionalliga Mitte, faced the Erding Bulls . The Farmers were able to defeat the champions of the Regionalliga Süd twice. In Erding they prevailed with 38:22 and even in the home game, with a 37:27, they could no longer take the butter off bread. This enabled the Farmers to march straight through from the Oberliga 2006 to GFL 2 in 2008.
In the relegation to GFL 2 Nord, the Leipzig Lions, as champions of the Regionalliga Ost met the runner-up of the Regionalliga West, the Bonn Gamecocks . The Gamecocks, who had voluntarily renounced promotion to GFL 2 last year, left the Lions no chance and won both games: at home with 42:26 and in Leipzig with 24:22. The duel between the Assindia Cardinals and the Magdeburg Virgin Guards was more exciting . Magdeburg was able to play their home game 14: 7 and in the second leg at the two minute warning in the fourth quarter of the second leg it was only 14:13 for the Essenes. But they managed to score the decisive touchdown just a few seconds later. With the successful PAT , the Cardinals increased the score to 21:13, which was also the final result of the game. With that they won the direct comparison by exactly one point.
