The 2011 season of the German Football League 2 was the 30th season of GFL 2, the second highest division of American football in Germany.

Due to the increase in the GFL from 14 to 16 teams, the first and second placed teams in the north and south were eligible for promotion.

Only six teams competed in the North Season, as the Potsdam Royals withdrew before the start of the season and the Langenfeld Longhorns also waived their participation in the game before the start of the season due to the opening of insolvency proceedings. The champions were the Hamburg Blue Devils , who rose to the GFL together with the second-placed Berlin Rebels . There was no athletic relegation in the northern relay, but the Magdeburg Virgin Guards withdrew their team from GFL 2 after the season.

In the season south, the Franken Knights were able to win the championship title. Like the runner-up, the Rhein-Neckar Bandits , they were promoted to the GFL. The Badener Greifs and the Weinheim Longhorns were relegated to the regional leagues .
