The 2012 season of German Football League 2 was the 31st season of GFL 2, the second highest division of American football in Germany.

In the northern relay, the AFC Cologne Falcons secured the championship. In the relegation, the team prevailed against the Lübeck Cougars and thus rose to the German Football League . The Hildesheim Invaders and the Assindia Cardinals occupied the last two places in the table and were relegated to the Regionalliga.

The Allgäu Comets became champions of the South Season, but they were subject to the Munich Cowboys in relegation and thus remained in GFL 2. The bottom two of the table, Holzgerlingen Twister and Darmstadt Diamonds , were relegated to the Regionalliga.
