The 2020 season of the German Football League 2 is the 39th season of the GFL 2, the second highest division of American football in Germany.

Originally, the first day of the season should be on 2/3. May be carried out. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the start of the season by the American Football Association Germany (AFVD) on March 17 was initially postponed to the weekend of Pentecost (May 30/31) and the summer break during the European Football Championship was canceled. On April 16, the AFVD announced that this start date will “hardly be tenable” without being more specific. On July 31, 2020, it was decided to hold a season with the participation of eight teams.
