Karl Buhl

Karl Buhl (born February 25, 1884 in Ansbach ; † 1978 ) was a German administrative lawyer and local politician .

Life

Karl Buhl attended high school in Ansbach and Nuremberg. He then studied law and political science at the Universities of Erlangen, Kiel and Würzburg. In 1905 he became a member of the Corps Onoldia in Erlangen . In 1907 he passed the trainee examination. In 1908 he was promoted to Dr. iur. et rer. pole. PhD. After completing his legal clerkship in Erlangen and Nuremberg, he passed the assessor exam in 1910. In 1911 he became a public prosecutor in Fürth. In the First World War he took part in its full length in the heavy artillery. As an award he received the Iron Cross II. And I. Class.

On February 1, 1919 Buhl was appointed legal counsel in Hof (Saale) . On September 1, 1919 he became second mayor and on October 1, 1919 first mayor of the city of Hof. In early 1924 he was appointed Lord Mayor by the Bavarian government. He held the office until September 1933. On his initiative, the new hospital, the expansion of the technical works, new bridges and roads as well as the city bus network were built in Hof.
