Karl Ehmer

Karl Ehmer (born November 25, 1906 , † November 12, 1978 ) was a German football player who was active as a striker for Eintracht Frankfurt from 1927 to 1938 .

Career

The striker from Kronberg im Taunus was one of the greatest goal scorers of his time. In his first season for Eintracht he scored 40 competitive goals. Thanks also to Ehmer, Frankfurt was runner-up and qualified for the final round of the German soccer championship in 1928 . On July 8, 1928, Eintracht lost in the Müngersdorfer Stadium in Cologne against SpVgg Sülz 07 with 1: 3. Karl Ehmer scored the only goal.

In the 1931/32 season he scored 54 goals in 38 competitive games (including 33 goals in 19 championship games) and thus holds a season record for Eintracht that is still valid today. In the final round of the German soccer championship, he scored seven goals in four games; in the final on June 12, 1932 in Nuremberg, however, he failed to score against the defense of FC Bayern Munich led by Ludwig Goldbrunner . However, he never played for the German national soccer team . In total, Ehmer played 13 final rounds of the German championship for Eintracht Frankfurt and scored 18 goals. He also came to 130 league games in which he scored 138 goals. He also scored 68 goals in 74 games in the southern German championship and 1 goal in 5 games in the Tschammer Cup. He scored a total of 224 goals in 222 competitive games for Eintracht.

Others

In 1938 he ended his career after losing his regular place at Eintracht a few years earlier after an appendix operation. However, he completed a few guest appearances at VfL Benrath in the 1939/40 season .

He worked as a trainer for Union Niederrad .

Until his death on November 12, 1978, he was an honorary member and honorary captain of Eintracht Frankfurt.
