Karl Heinz Tragl

Karl Heinz Tragl (born April 22, 1936 in Wiesen ) is an Austrian internist , scientist and writer.

Career

Karl Heinz Tragl received his doctorate in Vienna in 1961. He received his specialist in internal medicine after training with Ernst Lauda and Erwin Deutsch at the First Medical University Clinic in Vienna . After a stay of several years at Stanford University in California, Tragl received his habilitation in internal medicine at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna in 1976 , has held regular lectures at the university since then and became head of the 1st Medical Department of Kaiser-Franz-Josef in 1977 - Hospital appointed.

In 1975 he received an additional specialist in medical laboratory diagnostics and in 1991 for nephrology. In 1982 he took over the management of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Age Research. In 1992, Tragl became head of the 1st Medical Department and Medical Director of the Donauspital in the Social Medicine Center East, the planning of which can also be traced back to Karl Heinz Tragl.

He was elected asset manager in 1986 in the Society of Doctors in Vienna and finally elected president in 2007, until he was replaced in this position by Franz Kainberger in 2011 . In 2004, Tragl was appointed to the State Medical Council of the City of Vienna. For his services to medical science and the Viennese health system, he was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the State of Vienna in 2002 and the Billroth Medal in 2006. Tragl has been retired since 2003.
