Karl Josef Georg Busemann

Karl Josef Georg Busemann (born February 26, 1897 in Solingen , † 1966 in Wiesbaden ) was a German journalist and editor .

Live and act

Busemann was born in Solingen in 1897 as the son of the postal secretary Karl Busemann. After graduating from high school, he studied law, political science and physics at the University of Strasbourg. After the First World War he continued his studies in Freiburg. He wrote his dissertation on "The economic importance of inland waterways and railways in Germany".

In 1919 Busemann married Elisabeth Ganz , the daughter of the Jewish businessman Eugen Ganz. The couple had a daughter (1920) and a son (1921). The marriage ended in divorce in 1940.

In 1924 Busemann became head of the business editorial department of the Rhein-Mainische Volkszeitung in Frankfurt , and in 1929 he switched to the Frankfurter Zeitung . Here he worked for the newspaper from 1933 to 1939 as a business correspondent in Paris. In 1946, after the war, he founded the magazine “Die neue Stadt”. From 1950 until his retirement he headed the business editorial department of the Frankfurter Neue Presse . Busemann died in Wiesbaden in 1966 .
