Karl Kurzbauer

Karl Kurzbauer (born April 6, 1934 in Melk ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and master carpenter . Kurzbauer was 1972-1993 deputy to the parliament of Lower Austria .

Kurzbauer completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and passed the master craftsman examination in 1959. In 1966 he started his own business. From 1958 to 1965 he was district chairman of the Austrian youth movement and in 1965 was elected to the municipal council of Melk. Between 1970 and 1972 he held the office of city council, from 1985 he was deputy mayor, then from 1988 again local councilor. Kurzbauer was elected ÖVP district party chairman in 1978, and between 1986 and 1996 he also held the office of vice chairman of the Association of Lower Austrian Municipal Representatives of the ÖVP. He was also active in the Chamber of Commerce and was appointed to the Commercial Council. Kurzbauer represented the ÖVP from February 3, 1972 to June 7, 1993 in the state parliament.
