Karl Ludwig Pichler (born September 19, 1830 , † September 14, 1911 ) was a German English and Romance scholar .

life and work

Pichler studied from 1848 to 1852 at the University of Tübingen. He was a high school teacher in Wittstock (1863), Chur (1865) and Winterthur (1871). From 1879 to 1900 he was associate professor and head of the practical seminar for modern languages ​​(French and English) at the University of Giessen . Then he lived in Friedrichshafen.
