Karl Menzies (born June 17, 1977 in Devonport , Tasmania ) is a former Australian cyclist .

Career

Mezies was considered a good sprinter, who at the end of his career mainly worked as a driver in sprint trains . Menzie, who mainly worked for US cycling teams , recorded individual successes, especially in numerous North American criteria .

But he was also able to win four stages in races on international calendars: In 2004 Mezies won the individual time trial of the Herald Sun Tour , in which he won a normal road stage in 2006 with a few seconds advantage. At the Tour Down Under 2007 he won the second stage and came second overall. He also won a stage in the 2011 Tour of Elk Grove . He won the overall ranking of the Tour of Elk Grove back in 2009 , when this tour was not yet listed as an international race.

At the end of the 2017 season, Mezies ended his active career.
