Karl Nightingale

Karl Nachtigall (born October 17, 1959 in Kirchdorf ) is a German transport scientist. Since 2000 he has been professor for traffic flow at the faculty of traffic sciences "Friedrich List" at the TU Dresden . He is the head of the specialization in "Systems Engineering" of the Transport Engineering course .

Life

After his diploma -Studies of mathematics with a minor in physics at the University of Hanover from 1978 to 1985 he was a research associate at the University of Hildesheim . During this time he completed his doctorate in mathematics at the University of Hanover. In 1995 he moved from Hildesheim to Braunschweig to the German Aerospace Center . During this time he completed his habilitation in 1999 at the Faculty of Traffic Flow Studies at the University of Hildesheim. In 2000 he was offered a position at the Faculty of Transport Science in Dresden. His research focuses on the mathematical optimization of timetabling , the line planning , the flight plan , the air traffic management and analysis of traffic data .
