Karl Ronicke

Karl Ronicke (* 1893 ; † 1968 ) was a manufacturer in the East Westphalian city ​​of Minden in North Rhine-Westphalia . He was city major from 1938 to 1963 and has been an honorary citizen of the city of Minden since February 26, 1963 .

Life and the company

Ronicke took over the family-owned furniture company “H. Ronicke Sons ”in the East Westphalian city of Minden in the third generation from 1921 together with his brother Georg and brother-in-law Martin Baade. The original production facility was located at the farrier's shop in downtown Minden, production areas were outsourced. Under his aegis, serial production would be promoted with modern machines and the products would also be sold abroad. It was possible to acquire new land in the city and to expand production. A new production site was created on Friedrich-Wilhelm-Strasse from 1928. Before the Second World War, 230 people worked at Ronicke. The Hufschmiede site was destroyed in the Second World War, after which the company was rebuilt under Karl Ronicke as senior boss. From 1950 housings for radios were built and a new, successful business area was developed here. Case production expanded to include televisions and music boxes . In 1984 the company was closed due to financial difficulties.

Squadron

Ronicke was from 1939 to 1963 city major in the citizen squadron of Minden Free Shooting . Under his leadership, the Citizens Squadron was re-established as an association after the Second World War.
