Karl Steininger (trumpeter)

Karl Steininger (born October 20, 1956 in Zwettl , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian trumpeter.

Life

At the age of 11, Karl Steininger received his first trumpet lessons from Heinrich Gutmann in Traiskirchen.

From 1970 to 1978 he studied at the Vienna Music Academy with Franz Weiss . In 1977 he had his first engagement at the Stadttheater Baden . In 1978 he was hired as first trumpeter of the Lower Austrian Tonkünstlerorchester and in 1980 as solo trumpeter with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra . From 1984 to 1992 he worked with Concentus Musicus as a baroque trumpeter.

He began teaching in 1985 at the Music and Art University of the City of Vienna and in 1988 as a university professor at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

Numerous concerts, workshops and master classes took him through Europe, Asia, America and South America.
