Karl Vonwald

Karl Vonwald (born July 28, 1933 in Michelbach ; † July 13, 2008 in Lilienfeld ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Vonwald was a member of the National Council from 1983 to 1994 .

Vonwald attended the agricultural vocational school after compulsory school and took over the grandparents' farm in 1954. He then worked as a self-employed farmer and was awarded the professional title of Economics Council.

Vonwald was politically active in the Austrian People's Party and became a local councilor in Michelbach in 1960. Between 1965 and 1973 he held the office of Vice Mayor, in 1973 he was elected mayor. Vonwald was also the main district chairman of the St. Pölten Farmers' Union and represented the ÖVP in the National Council between May 19, 1983 and November 6, 1994.
