Carnelian priest
The priests of the god Apollon Carneios , who ruled over the city of Sikyon , are referred to as carnelian priests ( ancient Greek ιερείς δ 'του καρνίου, Latin carnii sacerdotes ) .
While Sextus Iulius Africanus ascribes a total of 28 years of government to them, Eusebius of Caesarea reports that they ruled for 33 years. As the last year of the Karneen priests, he gives the 352nd year before the first Olympic Games in antiquity , i.e. 1128/7 BC. Chr. The first year of reign of the Karneen priests was between 1161 and 1155 BC. Chr.
