Karsibór [karˈɕibur] (German Kaseburg or Caseburg ) is an island in the Szczecin Lagoon in Poland .

It is located in the immediate vicinity of the island of Wollin and separated from it by the old Swine on the Kaiserfahrt (Kanał Piastowski), the main shipping channel for shipping from the Stettiner Haff to the Baltic Sea. The area of the island is approximately 14 km².

Until the end of the 19th century , the landscape around the village of Kaseburg formed the southeastern part of the island of Usedom on the Swine . When the Kaiserfahrt was built, a part of Usedom was cut off and turned into an island between the canal, the Alte Swine and the Swine Delta, as well as the part of the Szczecin Lagoon called the Großes Haff . Karsibór has been connected to Wolin Island by a bridge since 1966.

In the northern part of the island, partially separated by the Rzecki Nurt (Rick River), there is the 180 hectare bird sanctuary Karsiborska Kępa ( Kaseburger Hutung ), in which around 140 species of birds live. The extensive reed areas on the Swine Delta and on the lagoon coast are used to extract material for thatched roofing. Remote from the tourist centers of Świnoujście (Swinoujscie) and Międzyzdroje (Miedzyzdroje), Karsibór is now a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, anglers and hikers.

The village of Karsibór has about 1200 inhabitants and is part of the Świnoujście municipality in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship . The smaller towns of Woitzig and Lohberg , shown in older maps, no longer exist today.
