The Karuta Kobuto also Karuta Tatami Kobuto is a helmet that was worn by Japanese samurai with their armor ( Yoroi ).
description
The Karuta Kabuto is made of iron . The dome is made of rectangular plates, there are different versions that differ in the size and shape of the plates. The plates are connected to one another with chain armor . This arrangement ensures that the construction of the helmet is lighter than full plate helmets and allows the helmet to be folded up for transport. The iron plates are usually painted, which protects them from moisture and is used for decoration. The Karuta Kabuto was worn by lower-ranking samurai.
