The barracks Liestal is a barracks of the Swiss army in Liestal , the capital of the canton of Basel-Land .

The barracks has existed since 1862 and is part of the only arsenal north of the Jura . It is a cantonal, not a federal barracks. Accordingly, infantry has always been trained in the Liestal barracks , which was subject to the cantons until the completely revised federal constitution of 1999 came into force .
