The barracks on Lindhooper Straße (also Aller Kaserne or Lindhooper Barracks ) (British Army: Caithness Barracks ) is a building complex in Verden on the Aller , which was last used by the British Army . Today the administration and the rescue and fire brigade control center of the district of Verden , private companies, the eco center Verden and the North German Center for Sustainable Building are housed on the site.

The barracks were built around 1870 and Verden became a garrison town (mounted artillery). The National Socialists erected further buildings and expanded the access roads. Air defense units of the Wehrmacht were stationed here. In the barracks and other locations in Verden, the command authorities or offices and other facilities of military district X were housed.

Since the city was largely spared from fighting during World War II , most of the buildings were still intact after the war. From 1945 to 1993 the 1st Armored Division of the British Army (1st Panzer Division) was stationed in the Caithness Barracks in Verden.
