history

The 800 year old church was built around 1214. The year 1222 is said to have once stood on a stone by the church tower . In 1656 the church burned down and the reconstruction lasted from 1660 to 1668. The town church , which faces the market with the west gable, is a three-aisled, flat-roofed, two- bay hall with steps , which is adjoined by a groin-vaulted choir square . The altar was placed in the crossing and the choir square became the sacristy . The organ stands above it . The delineation is by Prof. Jöher from Dortmund , the cuppa of Alabaster - baptismal font has been preserved, the four cartridges shows biblical reliefs scenes of Christopher Franck 1613 Rosau.

In front of the choir square rises the tower, which is covered with a low tent roof.

The entrance to the nave is on the south side. The windows are ogival.

The hillside location of the church required significant renovations.
