Box (brief)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In brief one's chest a limited by borders, special area. Explanations, background information and sometimes even pictures can be highlighted in boxes. Boxes help the reader to find their way, especially with a multi-column layout, such as a newspaper. Even here in Wikipedia the following applies:

A "box" highlights its contents. As if one seduced the reader and said: "Please read here first!"

For column set with multiple columns of text in a box the same rules as for multi-column text generally apply: They must be in a paragraph as a last line of a column not lonely first lines, see "widows" and "orphans" . If the beginning of a paragraph falls in the first line of a column (column) , and if paragraph separation by indentation is customary in the document, indentation does not apply.

Outside the box, care must be taken in the text above the box that the reader recognizes whether and where the text is continued. To this end, words are occasionally deliberately separated by syllables.

In word processing programs like Word , if necessary, you insert a single-cell table to get a box.
