Katharina Blum

Katharina Blum (* 1966 in Cologne ) is a German film journalist , author and event manager.

Life

Katharina Blum was born in 1966 as the daughter of the film critic and author Heiko R. Blum .

She studied history and French at the University of Cologne . After completing her studies, she worked as a film journalist for various newspapers and radio stations. At the same time, the first non-fiction books were created, with the main focus on German film .

Together with her father, she published the book Faces of New German Films . She also helped her father publish the non-fiction book My Second Home Hollywood. German-speaking film artist in the USA .

In addition, Blum worked in the field of event organization for various film events. From 2001 to 2005 she was the personal advisor to Michael Schmid-Ospach , managing director of the Filmstiftung NRW . She then took on responsibility for the congresses and events division within the film foundation.
