Katharina Münchberg

Katharina Münchberg (* 1969 ) is a German literary scholar of Romance languages with a focus on French and Italian literature .

Life

After studying in Tübingen, Freiburg, Paris and Verona, she completed her dissertation at the University of Tübingen in 1999 , where she also completed her habilitation in 2003 with a thesis on Dante's Commedia . After substitute professorships at the Ruhr University Bochum and the Free University of Berlin, she was appointed to the W3 professorship for Romance literature at the University of Trier in 2007 .

Research priorities

Her research focuses on aesthetic theory, Romanesque literatures of the Middle Ages and modern times, and the poetics of friendship. In her scientific publications she particularly follows the relationship between literary work and philosophical discourse.
