Katharina Magdalena Brückner , née Katharina Magdalena Kleefeld , also Katharina Magdalena Klotzsch (* 1719 in Königstein near Dresden ; † December 26, 1804 in Koethen ) was a German theater actress .

Life

She took the stage in Dresden in 1741 under her maiden name Kleefeld. There she belonged for a long time to the Neuberer society and was one of the best actresses of this famous company. In 1750 she married the actor Klotzsch and after his death in 1754 in Breslau she married Johann Friedrich Brückner in 1756 after she had performed with great applause in Berlin as "Clytemnestra" in "Iphigenie" in the Koch society. She traveled extensively with this actor company and returned to Berlin with them in 1771. After Koch's death in 1775, the Brückner couple played for Karl Theophil DöbbelinschenSociety that from 1786 became the ensemble of the newly founded Berlin “Royal National Theater”. Katharina Brückner worked here continuously until 1791. On July 8, 1791, she celebrated her 50th anniversary on the stage. The king gave her a special honor that evening, gave her an important gift of money and granted her full salary as a pension. Her increasing age caused her to withdraw from the theater entirely. She went to Koethen with her son , where she spent the rest of her days in well-deserved rest. She died there on November 16, 1804.
