Kathleen M. Weaver

Kathleen Moesle Weaver (* 1947/48) is an American politician and has been mayor of Darien in Illinois since 2005 .

Kathleen Weaver received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign . She was a primary school teacher and then worked in insurance. She has been a member of the Darien City Council since 1987. In October 2005, Darien's mayor Carmen D. Soldato resigned surprisingly, and in an extraordinary session the city council elected Weaver as his successor. Weaver won the regular elections in April 2007 against her city council colleague Richard A. Biehl , four years later she was re-elected by Darien's citizens.
