Katie Stelmanis
Katie Austra Stelmanis (* 1985 in Canada ) is a Canadian singer-songwriter of Latvian origin.
Life
Stelmanis joined the Canadian Children's Opera Choir at the National Opera of her home country at the age of 10 . She received classical training as a singer, piano and violin. She later became a member of the band Galaxy and released both her first album Join us and her first single Believe Me in 2009 . At the same time she appeared in various groups and their publications.
Since 2010 her musical home is the Canadian new wave band Austra , with whom she released various albums and singles from 2011.
Stelmanis is openly lesbian.
